Dear UESiders,  We’re still in the lounge-chair-and-pool vacay mode, but there’re events/items on the UES horizon that need our attention/adding to our calendars…  To wit: Event #1: Saturday, September 11th: Twentieth Remembrance 9/11 Sunrise Ceremony –  From Darkness to Light John Finley Walk at top of 86th Street Stairs in Carl Schurz Park, 6:45am  (Wheelchair access at 84th & 87th Streets) And we quote, ‘A community commemorative event showcasing music, poetry and reflections at dawn on September 11th. The Ceremony reawakens a tradition from the first years after 9/11 that drew together people from across the community and city.”   Social distancing observed but all are welcome.  For more… Event #2: Saturday, September 18th:  The 42nd Green Thumb Harvest Fair 342 Pleasant Avenue between 118th & 119th Streets (one block east of First Avenue),East Harlem, 11am-3pm And again we quote, “Celebrate GreenThumb gardeners as the community gardening season comes to a close with workshops, cooking demonstrations, greening partners, and more!
